About us
Embroidery is more
than just needle up and down
Embroidery is our passion
The Deutsche Stickgilde e. V. was founded in 1998 by a small group of embroidery enthusiasts. The starting point was a simple question:
“Why is there an embroidery guild everywhere in the world – except here?”
The answer was equally simple: Because no one had founded one yet.
Today, the Deutsche Stickgilde connects people who wish to preserve, develop, and make textile art visible. Many of our members have comprehensive training in hand embroidery and share their knowledge with great enthusiasm – in workshops, regional groups, exhibitions, classes, and international projects.
Particularly important to us is:
Making textile art visible, passing on knowledge, and connecting people with one another.
The practical work of the Deutsche Stickgilde is still carried out primarily by dedicated members who volunteer their time, knowledge, and passion.
